AnchorBridge Environmental Inc. is a small but high-impact organisation based in Barbados working across the Caribbean on environmental justice, from climate action and water scarcity to safeguarding marginalised and LGBTQ+ communities in disaster contexts. Despite nearly six years of operation and a strong track record — including a policy brief cited by the Inter-American Human Rights Court — AnchorBridge has operated on small funding to date, constrained by its status as a small organisation in a non-ODA country. Gia is advising AnchorBridge on building a sustainable fundraising strategy to close that gap and move toward a larger, more sustainable, operating budget.

Fundraising Strategy & Diversification:

Gia is helping AnchorBridge diversify beyond its current core funders — UNDP, FRIDA, and IOM — sharing practical tools including grant proposal and donor tracking templates, crowdfunding guidance, and region-specific donor research to widen its funding pipeline beyond small, project-based grants toward sustainable, operational funding.

Organisational & Compliance Readiness:

Many of AnchorBridge's prospective funders require institutional documentation the organisation doesn't yet have in place. Gia is guiding the team through building out this infrastructure — including an organisational chart, risk register, safeguarding policy, and accounting and procurement policies — to meet the compliance bar larger multilateral donors expect.

Positioning & Partnership Mapping:

Gia is working with AnchorBridge to sharpen how it communicates its mission and impact to prospective funders and partners, including feedback on its organisational profile, while mapping its existing network of UN agency, academic, and grassroots partnerships to identify where new funding relationships can be built.
