Fount for Nations is a Malawi-based nonprofit working to transform early childhood development through innovative assessment tools, inclusive learning environments, and evidence-based programming. By supporting families, schools, and communities, Fount equips children with the foundations needed to thrive in their first 1,000 days and beyond.

Funding Strategy & Roadmap

Gia is helping Fount design a sustainable funding pathway that reduces reliance on one-off grants and secures one million dollars in annual, diversified funding within the next three to five years. This involves shaping opportunities with corporate sponsors, engaging diaspora and individual donors through giving circles and recurring campaigns, and developing social enterprise models that monetise Fount’s developmental toolkits and training services. Alongside this, Gia is supporting advice regarding catalytic funders and producing a tailored roadmap and reviewing existing pitch materials to ensure consistent, professional engagement with donors and partners.

Partnerships for Scaling

In parallel with fundraising strategy, Gia is helping strengthen partnerships that are essential for growth. Existing collaborations with government ministries, hospitals, and technical working groups are being analysed and assessed to see how they can be useful for Fount’s tools within national systems, while new partnerships with INGOs, UN agencies, and universities are being brainstormed and strategised to assess their ability to co-lead pilots, scale interventions, and validate impact. Gia is positioning Fount for both national scale, sustainable growth, as well as overall long-term sustainability.
